Yesterday was the last regular-season, Bountiful High School lacrosse game the-man-of-my-dreams will coach.
(For at least three years.)
I have spent the past 8 years following the team around with a camera.
I have snapped photos through rain, sleet, snow, wind, fair skies, bitter cold, perfect temperatures and blistering heat.
(I sound like a mailman.)
Through the years I have focused on the field and what was, or wasn't, happening there.
Yesterday I focused my lens on the sideline, on one man.
I wanted to capture thrill of victory and the agony of defeat on the face of my best friend.
(Fortunately, there was more thrill than agony yesterday.)
After our boys graduated I thought that he would step away from coaching...
I mean, his law practice is crazy busy.
(Who coaches in a suit???)
But, he loves these boys.
He loves teaching them...
and he hopes he makes a difference.
I love watching him doing what he so loves.
I am going to miss this.
